Precautionary boil water notice discontinued in Seminole County after treatment plant malfunction

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Seminole County on Monday announced a system wide precautionary boil advisory due to a malfunction at the water treatment plant, discontinuing the advisory on Wednesday.

The malfunction, which caused the pressure to drop below 20 psi, was dealt with by flushing out the distribution system and restoring the power, officials said in a post on Facebook.

The county began taking bacteriological samples as a precautionary measure.

As of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, the advisory was discontinued because all samples collected and analyzed had been cleared, according to the county.

The advisory only applied to residents with county water connections and did not apply to city water customers.
